Gustavo Osoria De Ita

Gustavo Osorio de Ita (Mexico, 1986). He is a poet, translator and critic. He was awarded with the prize of the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters in the area of poetry in 2008 and completed his PhD in Hispanic American Literature at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla, obtaining a Cum Laude distinction. His poetry has been translated to Arab, Italian, Romanian, French and Chinese and has published poems in national and international media, as well as the collection Bonapartes, published by CONACULTA in 2012, and the book on poetic theory, Reinventar el lirismo, along with Alí Calderón, at Valparaiso Ediciones in 2015. He has made translations of French and English poetry, among them the book Almuerzo con Pancho Villa (Valparaiso México, 2015) by Paul Muldoon, Vuelo y otrospoemas (Valparaiso México, 2017) by Kwame Dawes and an anthology of contemporary Indian poetry translated in Spanish, Otros vislumbres (Círculo de Poesía, 2018). He is a member of the editorial committee of the French-Moroccan magazine Électron Libre and of the most read electronic magazine on poetry of the Hispanic world, Círculo de Poesía. He was a poet in residence in 2017 at the Lu Xun International Writing Program in Beijing. He won the Annual Poet Award of 3rd Silk Road Poetry Award for the collection of poems Goldsmith of a farce. He currently lives in Puebla, Mexico.
